Welcome to Scheer Brilliance

Hello! My name is Stoph Scheer (she/her/they/them.)  I'm a puppeteer, improvisor, puppet builder, and writer.

I was trained in the Jim Henson technique by the Jim Henson Company, and I trained as a theatrical puppeteer with Figurentheater Wilde und Vogel.  I've puppeteered for recent TBA projects with both the Jim Henson Company and The Muppets, and I recently debuted in Brian Henson's Puppet Up!  I puppeteer, write and produce for The Creatures of Yes.

The New York Times described my original work as "endlessly inventive" and The New York Post has accused me of being Banksy.  I'm not Banksy (but I've worked with him) and I am the recipient of a prestigious Family Grant from the Jim Henson Foundation.
I've studied puppet-making with Ora Fruchter and Jacob Graham, and I'm currently studying with Bart Roccoberton and Bernd Ogrodnik.  The Puppet Co. of Maryland is currently performing my absurdist adaptation of Rumpelstiltskin. Super Secret Arts in Brooklyn will be producing my new musical, The Comedy of Wizards, this fall.  There's a TBA production of my climate change musical, Gruff!, set for next year!

I've also worked as a stage actress, clown, aerialist, magician, and director.
